
The Lincoln County Democrats want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for. We believe it is important to take at least a minute and speak a word of gratitude for the people, opportunities and gifts that have been give to us.
The Lincoln County Democrats will not have a meeting in December. Our next meet and greet will be on Thursday, January 8, 2009. Because January 1 falls on the first Thursday the LCD’s will met on the second Thursday, January 8, 2009. We will have several items on the agenda for the January meeting:
- Finalize plans for the January 20, 2009 Inauguration Celebration.
- Appointment of a Fund Raising Committee. Please consider volunteering for this committee.
- Accept suggestions for Fund Raising activities.
- Identifying speaker for our annual awards banquette.
- Accepting nominations to receive the Neville Award.
- Socializing with other Democrats.
Inauguration Celebration: January 20, 2008, 6:00 pm at the Depot. Come join us for the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. This dinner will be an opportunity to celebrate all the work of the LCDs during the 2008 election cycle for Obama and other Democratic candidates. The Depot will provide us with three choices for dinner, including: Prime Rib, Shrimp, and Chicken Alfrado . Meals will include all the fixings.

January 8, 2009 — Monthly Meeting of the LCDs – Airport INN, Dinner 6 Meeting starts at 7:00
January 20, 2009 – Inauguration Celebration @ the Depot, 6:00 pm
Lincoln County Democrats gathered at the Airport Inn on November 6, 2008 for their Monthly Meet and Greet. Democrats who attended the meeting discussed the results of the recent election and planned for the future.
Attention turned to the upcoming special session of the Unicameral. Democrats were encouraged to communicate with members of the Unicameral. Remember that the Unicameral’s regular session will being in January. Information about the work of the Unicameral is available from the Unicameral Information Office. The next meeting of the Lincoln County Democrats will be on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Airport Inn. We meet at 6:00 pm for dinner and the meeting starts at about 7:00 pm.
Mark your calendars for an Inaugural party on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. The time and place will be announced. We will gather to celebrate Obama’s inauguration on the 20th. Watch your email and the web site for information.

Legislative season

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 is the day to vote. Please make sure to vote and take a friend with
you. This is an important election and your vote does count. You will find a list of polling places here. Take time to Vote
Scott made a campaign stop in North Platte on Sunday, November 2, 2008. He asked the 60 or so people who gathered at the North Platte airport to contact people they know and tell them why you are voting for Scott. Then ask them to vote for Scott. If each person who attended the meeting contacted 30 people think how many people we would personally invite to vote. It is very important to get out the vote Scott said.
